DCT company is a family owned and operated business. We have been open for 12 years and have a passion for dance. DCT Company all started one day when Miss. Katie had a dream to create a dance studio that was student oriented and was focused on making sure they were having fun doing what they love. Since the start, Miss. Katie has kept her dream alive and helped in educating dance. Recently DCT Company gained four more teachers, Miss. Michelle AKA Miss. Peanut, Miss. Tori, Miss. Cece & Miss. Grunchen. While we may be small, we all truly love what we do here at DCT!
Miss. Katie is the owner and teacher at DCT Company since opening in 2009. She is dedicated to sharing her passion and love for dance and cheerleading with all of her students. She is a local Wayne central school graduate and has her formal dance education from Miss Sandy Strominine and Miss Amy Sidari. She has a rich cheerleading background varying in youth, all-star, prep, and collegiate. She received a BS in Applied Arts and Sciences from RIT. She is currently the head coach at RIT and has been the first coach in RIT’s history to help the team achieve a bid to Nationals. She is a NYS and Varsity Brands certified judge. She has judged for many different competition brands and loves it. She also has certifications in AACCA, USASF, Varsity Brands Cheer and Dance Certified, NFHS Safety, NFHS Coaching, Heat Safety, Heads Up Safety Certified, Certified in Coaching Unified Sports, Certified in Music Adjudication, Certified in NCAA Eligibility, and STUNT certified Coach and Official. She has received Best Choreography and Multiple special judge’s awards at Rochester, Buffalo & Syracuse Regionals. Miss. Katie loves to teach, and loves all of her students! She always encourages her students and helps them achieve different opportunities. Her local students have competed very successfully, and have received first place at Rochester, Buffalo & Syracuse Regionals, and various National events. She would like to thank all of those who have supported her in making this dream a reality, especially her family.
Miss. Peanut has been dancing at DCT since she was a little girl. She always enjoyed competing with her team as they felt like they were her family. While Tap is her favorite style of dance she competed in many other styles as well. Miss. Peanut started as a T.A. at DCT and since then her love for teaching has flourished. After she graduated high school she was invited to perform on her college dance teams competition team. After college she came back to her hometown to help out at the studio that holds a special place in her heart, DCT. Since her teaching career has begun Miss. Peanut has loved being able to bring her creativity to life through her choreography and cannot wait to see what the future has in store!
Miss CeCe has been dancing at DCT since she was 12. She started with cheer then found a love for dance. She loves performing and being up on stage. She’s been teaching since her senior year of high school and has been a TA since she was 15. She loves being here with the kids and passing on her knowledge. She was on the competition team for DCT and was on the World All-Star Championship series team ‘22 and ‘23. She loves what she’s doing and can’t wait to see what more comes!
Miss. Grunchen is the first DCT student to go through our dance program from Pre-K all the way to her senior year in high school! Along with taking classes at DCT Miss. Grunchen became a TA for Miss. Katie and Miss. Cece when she was approximately 14 years old. Miss. Grunchen loves working with the kids, and helping them work on new skills. Since graduating Miss. Grunchen has decided to come back and help out at the studio that has helped her become who she is today!
Miss. Michelle has been teaching cheer / dance for 25 + years, and is able to share her wealth of knowledge with the students with DCT. Along with teaching Miss. Michelle is also our "Costume Queen". With a wealth of experience in costuming, Miss. Michelle also has also won many awards for her costumes. When you come to the studio you most likely can find Miss. Michelle Rhinestoning costumes at the desk to help the costumes shine when they hit those stage lights! Miss. Michelle also does a lot of the behind the scenes administrative work to help the studio and studio functions to go as smooth as they can!
Miss. Diane started her journey at DCT when her daughter started dance here when the studio began. Since them Miss. Diane has come back to help out at DCT by doing what she can by Maning the desk, with some behind the scenes administrative stuff or even helping out at any special events that we may be hosting or attending. Miss. Diane is a big help at the studio and we are so grateful to have her always come with her positive attitude and help out whenever she can!
