Toddler Bop- An introduction to dance for our very youngest dancers. (Ages 18mos. - 3 year olds). These classes are structured to stimulate
coordination skills, listening skills, balance, music interpretation, creative movement and motor development in the youngest dancers.
This program is an excellent introduction to the world of dance.
Tumble- All of our classes use a progression based curriculum along with a combination of drills, conditioning spotted tumbling and most importantly FUN! To maximize the skill development rate of every single athlete.
Improv- In a pleasant and safe setting, experience the pleasure of improvisational comedy and the power of play. We provide students
with a thorough training program that fosters creativity and personal development while giving them a solid foundation in improvisation.
Yoga-The goal of this session is to introduce students to the art of yoga. The class moves at a slower speed with an emphasis on creating safe
and clear alignment in the basic postures. Studying the fundamentals and giving your body plenty of time to adjust to space and time. must be in tune with your breath as you go through the poses, building flexibility and strength as you go.
Acro- Tumbling is a combination of acrobatics and gymnastics. It consists of floor tricks (cartwheels, round offs, backbends…etc) It focuses on building muscle, strength and flexibility.
Ballet- Ballet is the “backbone” of all dance training. In ballet the student will learn grace, elegance, technique, discipline, flexibility,
stamina, and endurance.
Tap- Students are taught rhythms, timing, and leg/foot coordination done to various types of music.
Jazz- Jazz is sharp and fluid movements to create a visually technical dance and style. It is usually done to popular music. Body isolations,
stretch, turning, leaping and technical steps are taught in this class.
Lyrical- Lyrical/contemporary dance is a flexible style of movement performed to uptempo contemporary music and well-known ballads.
The dancer learns how to convey feeling, motion, and style in his or her movements. They will learn how to narrate a tale or paint a picture for
a song. This fashion fuses the jazzier movements with the flowing grace of ballet. Along with lyrical/contemporary, a jazz or ballet lesson is
advised to develop technique.
Hip hop- Hip hop dancing is meant to assist the dancer relax, develop rhythm, and have fun while getting an aerobic exercise. We'll teach you
moves from MTV and other TV music videos featuring well-known performers. This is a fantastic method to work out hard, have fun, and
build confidence.
Leaps and Turns-This class is intended for the serious dancer who wants to improve their turning, jumping, and leaping techniques. Technique and appropriate body positioning are stressed throughout these lessons. They are taught in a step-by-step progression starting with the
fundamentals and moving up to advanced skills and combinations of those skills. For students who wish to be in upper PT, this class is crucial
for developing the skill needed for tricks in routines.
Stretch and Strength- The goal of strength and conditioning is to increase physical endurance and prepare the body for challenging tricks and the aerobic demands of advanced dancing.
Cheer- Teams are a competitive sport incorporating skills from gymnastics tumbling, dance, stunting, and jumps.
Pointe- Dancers must be at least 11 years old, have attained Intermediate/ Advanced level, and have been attending 2 ballet classes per week for at least one year. Teachers are seeking for dancers with
strong cores, powerful ankles, and dancers who can maintain their ballet placement at barre and center.
Combo Classes- Introduces the basic steps of ballet, tap, acro and/maybe jazz. Each class will either focus on all styles. This is a great class to get a little bit of each style!
PT- PT is short for Performance Troupe! Our performance troupe is our competitive dance teams! This requires a bigger commitment. The
teams are made-up of a dancer of all ages who are committed to a higher level of dance training period our performance troupe competes
at several different competitions locally, regionally and nationally throughout the season. DCT Company has some great performers and
love to share their passion with the stage!
Comp cheer- . Cheer competitions give students the ability to compete in the sport they choose! We tend to have local events
Dinner and a Show- Dinner and a show is our fall dance production. It is kind of like the recital but instead of separate dance routines, it is a
bunch of dance routines rolled into telling a story! This year’s Dinner and a Show production is a Grinch spin off!
